Jerramungup is a small town located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Here are some interesting facts about the region:
1. Jerramungup is believed to mean "place of the freshwater spring" in the local Aboriginal language.
2. The town was established in the early 1900s after the railway reached the area.
3. The region is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including the Fitzgerald River National Park which is home to over 1,800 species of plants and animals.
4. Jerramungup is a popular destination for birdwatchers, with over 190 species of birds recorded in the area.
5. The town has a strong agricultural industry, with wheat, sheep and cattle farming being the main sources of income for many residents.
6. Jerramungup is also home to a number of historic sites, including the old police station which is now a museum, and the Jerramungup Heritage Trail which takes visitors on a journey through the town's past.
7. In 1969, a meteorite struck a farm just outside of Jerramungup, causing a large explosion and leaving a deep crater in the ground. The area is now known as the Wolfe Creek Crater, and is a popular tourist attraction.
8. The town holds an annual agricultural show, which includes livestock judging, arts and crafts, and a variety of other activities for the whole family.

10. The town is located approximately 450km southeast of Perth, and can be accessed via the Albany Highway.
